The noren (cloth banner) hanging out front garners the entrance to Yakumo-an, a quaint soba restaurant located on shiominawate, a street preserved in the style of Edo. The kamo-nanban soba (duck & buckwheat noodle) dish served here is popular with both tourists and locals. So I said I may give it a try myself!
And here’s what I got! Pretty appetising right?
There’s not much more you could ask for on a wet and cold day to warm you up, than this tasty soupy duck and noodle dish. And for only 900yen, it’s quiet a bargain too. Yakumo-an also has a cute handmade English menu, which comes complete with photos of each of the dishes.
Yakumo-an also has a nice garden area to wander around or look out on over your meal.
So if you happen to be in the shiominawate area, I recommend this place to refuel
