You might have heard of the Japanese dish known as ‘okonomiyaki‘ referred to as being like a pizza, or pancake with savoury toppings, but the most appropriate description might be more of a veggie packed floury omelette with other optional toppings such as bacon and seafood etc.
This particular restaurant, ‘casa‘(かさ), opens from 5pm, located near Kyomise/ karakoro hiroba.
The tables of these ‘okonomiyaki’ are usually adorned with pots with sauce, seasoning, powdered seaweed etc
Ingredients piled high before cooking on the table’s hot plate
Laying out of ingredients in a (rough) circle
After flipping once
Steaming deliciousness!
Coated in okonomiyaki sauce
And ready to be devoured ^ ^
Bon appetit!

I was a little shocked to find my fav okonomiyaki place called tsukishima-tei no longer around during our little trip, but this place offers very similar okonomiyaki dinning experience! Nice find!
Oh and the store name actually reads as ‘umbrella’ in english!
